Method
- Mix the flour, yeast, sugar, and salt.
- Add the egg, warm milk, butter, and vanilla, then knead into a soft, smooth dough.
- Cover the dough and let it rise until doubled in size.
- Roll out the dough and cut rings with a donut cutter, then let them rise again for about 20 minutes.
- Fry the rings in medium-hot oil until they puff up and turn golden on both sides.
- Drain them on paper towels, let them cool slightly, then coat in sugar or chocolate.
