Thick and Fluffy American Pancakes for Breakfast

Thick, fluffy American pancakes made from a simple batter, cooked in a pan and served stacked high with honey, butter and fruit.

  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • A pinch of salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 and a half cups milk
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • Vanilla

Method
 

  1. Whisk together the dry ingredients: flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.
  2. Beat the eggs with the milk, butter and vanilla.
  3. Pour the wet mixture over the dry and stir just a little (the batter should stay slightly lumpy).
  4. Heat a pan over low heat and grease it with a little butter.
  5. Pour in a ladleful of batter and let it cook until bubbles appear on the surface, then flip.
  6. Cook the other side until golden, then stack the pancakes and serve with honey and fruit.

ملاحظات

Don't overmix the batter so your pancakes stay nice and fluffy.
Low heat ensures they cook through without burning.
Flip them only once, as soon as the bubbles appear.
