Method
- Beat the butter and sugar together until the mixture is creamy and pale.
- Add the eggs and vanilla, then beat again.
- Add the flour and baking powder alternately with the milk, and stir until smooth.
- Spoon the batter into the cupcake liners up to two-thirds full, and bake at 175°C (350°F) for about 18 to 20 minutes.
- Let the cupcakes cool completely.
- Beat the buttercream with the powdered sugar, milk, and food coloring, then decorate the cupcakes using a piping bag.
